Nestled in the heart of Central Greece near Thebes, Samartzis Estate is a family-run winery rooted in tradition yet driven by innovation. With vineyards perched at 400 meters above sea level, the estate benefits from cool mountain breezes flowing down from Mount Helicon and abundant sunshine od Boeotia—ideal conditions for nurturing indigenous grape varieties like Kontoura, Malagousia, and Mouchtaro, alongside select international classics.

What sets Samartzis apart is its dedication to expressing terroir and grape identity. Headed by Panos Samartzis, a former pharmacist turned vintner, the estate embraces a “one vineyard, one wine” philosophy. Since 2008, he and his brother Spiros have overseen a 10‑hectare estate, reviving nearly lost varietals such as Mouchtaro—an old, late‑ripening red grape rescued from the brink of extinction.

On the label, you’ll find an authentic showcase of Greek viticulture: from age-worthy single-vineyard reds to fresh, barrel-fermented whites. The flagship Mouchtaro Grand Reserve offers rich aromas of dark berries, spices, and tobacco with a refined texture, while their Two Rivers Syrah and Kontoura–Assyrtiko blend illustrate their range and creative spirit .
