Story
Enrico Santini, a self-taught winemaker, established his winery in Bolgheri, Tuscany, driven by a profound passion for his homeland. Committed to organic farming, he cultivates vineyards without chemical pesticides or herbicides, ensuring the health of the soil and vines. This dedication results in wines that authentically express the unique Bolgheri terroir.
The estate spans approximately 10 hectares, with vineyards planted to traditional Tuscan varieties such as Sangiovese, as well as international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. This diverse selection allows Enrico to craft wines that balance tradition with modernity, appealing to a wide range of palates.
Among his notable wines is the ‘Poggio al Moro,’ a blend that showcases the harmonious integration of Sangiovese with international varieties. Another standout is the ‘Montepergoli,’ a flagship wine that embodies the depth and complexity achievable in the Bolgheri region.
Enrico’s hands-on approach extends from the vineyard to the cellar, where he employs meticulous winemaking techniques to preserve the integrity of the fruit. By combining traditional methods with selective modern practices, he ensures each bottle reflects his commitment to quality and sustainability.
Through unwavering dedication and respect for the land, Enrico Santini has established himself as a notable figure in the Bolgheri wine scene, producing wines that honor the rich heritage of Tuscany while embracing the possibilities of organic viticulture.
“As one of the only wine producers in Bolgheri who was born and raised in the area, he has a deep commitment to the region that developed out of his love for the land and the microclimate of this spectacular Tuscan coastal area.
Enrico Santini continues to turn out impressive wines in the full-bodied generous style that is typical of Bolgheri.”
