Story

Argatia Winery is located in Naoussa, Greece. It is a family-owned estate that focuses on indigenous grape varieties. The winery aims to revive the region’s rich viticultural heritage. Therefore, the winery combines traditional and modern winemaking techniques to create wines that reflect the terroir.

The name “Argatia” means “cooperation” or “teamwork” in Pontic Greek. This reflects the winery’s philosophy of collaboration. As a result, they prioritize respect for nature and sustainable practices.

The vineyards sit on the southeastern slopes of Vermio Mountain. These areas benefit from a favorable microclimate and diverse soils. Furthermore, Argatia cultivates native varieties like Xinomavro, Negoska, and Mavrodaphne. The goal is to bring out the best in these unique grapes.

Winemaking  involves minimal intervention. This allows the natural character of the grapes to shine through. In addition, they use gentle extraction methods and careful aging. Consequently, the wines have complexity, balance, and express the land.

Argatia’s wines cater to various tastes. For example, their range includes fresh whites and bold reds. Each wine tells the story of its land and people.

Through hard work and dedication, Argatia Winery has gained recognition in Greece and beyond. Their focus on quality and authenticity makes them a standout in the Greek wine industry.
