Crete has been recognized as one of the seven most promising wine regions in the world by Wine Enthusiast, one of the leading voices in international wine journalism with more than 4 million readers worldwide.

Stelios Zacharioudakis, President of the Wines of Crete network, called the mention a milestone for the island’s winemakers:
“This recognition rewards the serious efforts of all Cretan producers to craft wines of top quality. Cretan vineyards now stand alongside the world’s leading wine regions. Such distinctions raise our responsibility to continue striving for excellence so that Cretan wine becomes a global reference for experts and wine lovers alike.”

The magazine highlighted Crete’s dynamic wine industry, unique terroir, and growing presence in international markets — a development expected to further boost the island’s reputation on the global wine map.
