Antico Colle

Antico Colle winery is a family-owned estate nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, at the heart of the renowned Vino Nobile di Montepulciano vineyards. For three generations, the Frangiosa family has passionately dedicated themselves to the cultivation of these vineyards, nurturing the land and producing wines that reflect the rich heritage of the region. The estate is a testament to this enduring passion, passed down from father to son, and is now recognized for its production of fine wines embodying the essence of Tuscany.

The estate spans 25 hectares of vineyards, situated at elevations between 300 to 400 meters above sea level. This altitude, combined with the region’s unique microclimate and soil composition, provides an ideal environment for cultivating indigenous grape varieties. The primary varietals grown include Prugnolo Gentile (a Sangiovese clone), Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo, Chardonnay, Malvasia, and Tuscan Trebbiano. The diverse terroir contributes to the distinctive character and quality of Antico Colle’s wines.

At the helm of the winery is owner Andrea Frangiosa, with winemaking led by Valerio Coltellini. Their combined expertise and commitment to excellence have resulted in an annual production of approximately 150,000 bottles. The portfolio includes esteemed labels such as Il Saggio Riserva Nobile di Montepulciano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano, Chianti Colli Senesi, and Bianco IGT. Each wine is crafted to express the authentic flavors and traditions of the Montepulciano region.
